  • Sweater progreeeeeess!

on the floor, in bad light.  We've got a back, a left front, and the beginning of a right front!

    Gratuitous annoyed cat shot:

Everything looks entirely too small right now.  But 1) I am a small person. 2) I have yet to block these and there is some wool content in the yarn so hopefully that will do the trick.

  • Oh my god, I totally just cleaned my desk.  Note that "my desk" is actually an "indoor/outdoor banquet table" um but... you know.  It's big and I really don't want to have to go through the hassle of putting together a desk and then having to move it in May when we move to a smaller apartment. (and note that "putting together" = "finding someone (probably an exboyfriend) to do it for me so it doesn't turn out like the ghetto dresser I put together myself").

Anyway, one half of my desk is rather tidy and the other is... not as tidy.  Though there is no longer any trash or useless items, everything is quite necessary in some fashion to my existence. So I feel very productive today!  Now if only I could find my text book, I could do my homework and be REALLY productive!  Hahahaha.

Now for your viewing pleasure, MY FREAKING ADORABLE KITTEN.

  • Oh jebus, I've started knitting my very first SWEATER!!!  I'm so excited.  Here's the picture from the magazine (Fall 06 Knitscene):

It's called the Central Park Hoodie.  Except it will be in a dark forest green heather (Lion Brand Wool-Ease, cuz I know you wanted to know):

JoAnn's had it for $2.50 a skein. I even made a gauge swatch and everything!  So far all I've gotten done is the ribbing on the back, but it's pretty awesome ribbing if I do say so myself.  I'll post pics as soon as something sweater-like emerges.

  • This store is sucking out my soul.  I got stuck working in the fitting rooms for probably about 4 or 5 hours today and I was just miserable.  It's such hard work, keeping up with all the customers, running the go-backs, and because you're the only employee who's not behind a cash register, you're the person everyone goes to with questions so you have to help the customers on the floor.  Fitting rooms SUCK.  Every days sucks, really, but working in the fitting rooms is capital letters SUCK.

Whenever someone tells me how about how much time they waste at work or how little they did or how boring their job is, I want to punch them in the face.  I really really do, no exaggeration.   I work my ASS off day in and day out and I get paid jack-shit to do it.  At the end of the day I'm physically exhausted, my feet are numb, and my head is throbbing.  Carpal tunnel from typing?  Eye strain from looking at a computer screen?  Boo freaking hoo.

  • Guh, the formerly mentioned holiday knit is proving to be more troublesome than I'd anticipated.  Boo!

I'm really excited right now because I'm applying to Drury's paralegal program!  My dad was a paralegal and I don't know why I didn't think of it before, it's the perfect job for me.  A lot of research, a lot of documentation and writing.  My concerns are: 1, they don't accept me because of my shitty GPA at MSU, and 2, I won't be able to afford it because Drury is kind of expensive.  All I have left to do to apply is send them my transcripts.  Which would be easier if stupid MSU's website wasn't so slow today.
